The Innocent London Fête

July 30th, 2007

Innocent London FeteIf you’re at a loose end on 4th or 5th August, take a trip to London’s Regent’s Park for the ‘Innocent Village Fête’. Indulge in a bit of dancing e.g. Morris, Maypole or Barn! Try your luck at the Welly Wanging, Tug o’War or Tombola, and enjoy some homemade cakes or cream teas. Sounds good eh!

Also, you’ll find a big farmer’s market and loads for the littlies to do. Take a picnic or buy a gourmet burger, and enjoy a thirst quenching glass of beer or cider from the real ale and cider tent, or of course there will be lots of smoothies. And at the end of the day, you might like to treat yourself to a massage in the ‘feelgood area’ to relieve you from the stresses of life.

The Fête takes place at Gloucester Green (north-east corner of Regent’s Park) on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August and is open from 11am to 7pm both days. Tickets are an inexpensive £5.00 each for adults, £2.50 for the kids and infants go free. Get yours by clicking here.

All profits from ticket sales will go to Well Child, Green Peace and Samaritans Charities.

Hairspray Film Premiere

July 5th, 2007

Tonight at The Odeon, Leicester Square crowds will gather to see top celebs strutting it down the red carpet at the London film premiere of Hairspray. Starring John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Christopher Walken, Michelle Pfeiffer and Amanda Bynes, this all star cast is bound to attract a huge audience from around the world. Trailer pasted below:

The storyline is pretty unique and sounds hilarious; set in the year 1962 Tracy Turnblad has one goal to be a dancer. The problem is that Tracy is a big girl with big hair and doesn’t really fit the dancer stereotype however she is determined to succeed and ends up dancing on a local TV show. Will all her dreams come true? You’ll have to watch the film and find out.

The best part about this film is John Travolta’s role as Edna Turnblad (Tracy’s mother). I’m talking full blown makeover here – women’s clothes, wig, make-up, he really looks the part!

Lights Out London

June 21st, 2007

Light BulbTonight we have the chance to help the environment by saving energy with Capital FM’s Lights out London. They are asking that between 9 and 10pm this evening, everyone in London turns out their lights and shuts down non-essential appliances. Even if you don’t live in London you could still join in, I know I’m going to!

OK so just one hour of power saving in London isn’t going to save the planet from global warming but it could help raise awareness of the topic and make people think about unnecessary energy they are using.

Visit the Lights out London website for further information or to see how you can get involved.

Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer Film Premier

The film stars Ioan Gruffudd as Mr Fantastic, Jessica Alba as The Invisible Woman, Chris Evans as The Human Torch and Michael Chiklis as The Thing. Crowd are likely to be gathering from early afternoon so it could be a great chance for you to get some celebrity snaps for the album! Trailer below:
